↗Real impact, real numbers
Your donation can create a profound impact on the lives of seniors in Kansas. For every $1,500 donated, we can fund over 200 home-delivered meals, which includes both the meal and safety check component. Alternatively, this amount can provide more than 400 meals at congregate senior center sites, helping reduce per-meal costs and feeding even more individuals. At higher donation tiers, such as $2,500 or $5,000, the number of meals increases significantly, demonstrating the power of your generosity in addressing senior hunger in our community.
How we vet recipient partners
We ensure that our partner organizations meet high accountability and transparency standards by working closely with Area Agencies on Aging-contracted providers. These nonprofits are members of the Meals on Wheels America network and comply with the Older Americans Act Title III-C nutrition standards. They also maintain no or short waiting lists, which is indicative of their funding sufficiency and ability to promptly serve seniors in need.
How proceeds flow
When you donate your vehicle, the proceeds from its auction are carefully managed. After covering towing and processing costs, approximately 70-80% of the gross proceeds are forwarded to our partner organizations. From there, a program ratio is applied to ensure that funds are channeled directly into the specific programs that serve our seniors, maximizing the impact of your donation.
Kansas recipient landscape
Kansas faces unique challenges in meeting the nutritional needs of its aging population. With a growing number of seniors seeking assistance, local meal programs become more vital than ever. State-level funding for senior nutrition initiatives is often limited, making private contributions essential. By donating to Sunflower Autos, you directly support programs that are tailored to meet the needs of Kansas seniors, fostering health and community throughout the state.
